FAQs

Common questions.

What clients ask about scope, timeline, and how the work runs.

What kinds of flooring do you install?

Luxury vinyl plank, tile, hardwood, engineered wood, and laminate. We'll walk you through which one fits the room, the traffic, and your budget — a kitchen or a bath asks for something different than a bedroom.

Why does the subfloor matter so much?

Because a floor is only as flat as what's under it. If the subfloor or slab is uneven and you skip prep, the finished floor flexes, gaps, or cracks. We level and prep first, every time — it's the part that makes the floor last.

What's the best flooring for Florida homes?

It depends on the room, but luxury vinyl plank is a strong default here — it's waterproof and handles our humidity and slab moisture without swelling. For dry living areas, engineered wood and tile both hold up well. We'll give you a straight recommendation.

Do you remove the old flooring?

Yes. We pull up and haul out the old flooring, then check and prep the subfloor underneath before anything new goes down. What we find under old tile or carpet sometimes changes the prep, and we'll show you if it does.

How long does a flooring job take?

Flooring moves faster than most remodels, but it depends on the square footage, the material, and how much subfloor prep it needs. We give you a realistic window once we've seen the space and the condition of the subfloor.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. HammerHead is licensed in Florida and carries insurance. We'll confirm it before we start.
